Kids Take the Mic: New PLMI Event Puts The Holistic Kids at the Center of the Conversation on Healthy Eating
“Voices at the Table: A Kids-Led Conversation on Food,” moderated by Dr. Bland, features The Holistic Kids exploring what drives healthy eating in children.
AURORA, IL, UNITED STATES, September 18, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Personalized Lifestyle Medicine Institute (PLMI) is inviting parents, practitioners, and educators to hear directly from the people who matter most in the conversation about children's nutrition: kids themselves. “Voices at the Table: A Kids-Led Conversation on Food” brings together The Holistic Kids, internationally known youth speakers and health advocates, for a candid discussion moderated and introduced by Dr. Jeffrey Bland, founder of PLMI and widely recognized as the father of Functional Medicine.
The event tackles questions that many parents and clinicians wrestle with but rarely hear answered by children themselves:
What actually motivates kids to make healthier food choices?
What shuts that motivation down?
How can pressure and food restriction backfire, even when the intent is good?
By centering the youth perspective, “Voices at the Table” offers a rare, unscripted look at how children experience food, choice, and autonomy, insight that can reshape how families and practitioners approach nutrition conversations at home and in practice.
“The future of lifestyle medicine begins with youth.” ~ Dr. Jeffrey Bland
